MIS on Railway Datalogger
This MIS is designed to take all the Divisions & Sections of the Railway into consideration and can generates user friendly Reports of all the Divisions. The Reports covers various aspects of safety, Operation and Maintenance.
The MIS Data logger have an intermediate server (Division wise) running Windows IIS services and MS SQL DB Services. This server access the Oracle Database in read only mode from all the divisions and sections, where all the needed parameters for alerts that can be generated from Data Loggers is stored. The MIS application is hosted on this intermediate server, where authenticated users will be allowed to generate/view the MIS. The list of the reports which can be viewed by departments other than S&T are as under:
- Point not set against occupied lines.
- Relay room opening & closure.
- Over speeding of trains on loops.
- Late start of train (5-10 mins. 10-15 mins and more than 15 mins.)
- Point loose packing
- Power supply Failure
- Daily Crossover Point Operation
Apart from above reports, about 35 more reports are generated and made available to S&T Engineers for helping them in preventive maintenance of their assets.

- Yearly Summary
- Specific Date Report
- Trends Graphical Report
An automated ticket generation based on the logic defined in the application will be in place to inform the concerned user for necessary remedial action. The user will receive the tickets generated by the system via SMS/E-mail or both. We have used the SMS gate way of Railway for sending the SMS. Graphical representation of the MIS data is generated for the analytical studies. Availability of the required data from Oracle server is the responsibility of the Department.
The MIS generation on data loggers provided with the signaling is installed at West Central Railway Jabalpur and has been providing very useful information for preventive maintenance and quick fault rectification of interlocking systems, besides offering a highly accurate and authentic analysis of the renewal events at the railway stations. MIS generation on Data Loggers is developed and implemented in West Central Railway Jabalpur for the First Time and appreciated by Indian Railway safty board Govt. of India.
